I've been raised on traditional oats, so my transition to gluten-free rolled oats was quite interesting. It's thicker, more wholesome and filling than the former. It has been an exciting quest playing with different flavours alongside the oats and cinnamon won the battle of the spices! Topped with fresh bananas and almonds, it makes for a healthy breakfast that you won't regret.
Ingredrients
1 cup of Gluten-free rolled oats
a pinch of salt
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of chia seeds
2 tbsp of peanut butter
1 cup of milk
1 fresh sliced large banana
Method
- Boil 2 cups of water and add salt. Cook the oats until it's soft.(approximately 10 minutes).
- Drain any excess water.
- Pour in the milk and stir slowly.
- Add the cinnamon and decrease the heat to low for a few minutes.
- Dish up the oats and top with banana slices, peanut butter, almonds and chia seeds for a tasty finish.
