Berry-Beet smoothie

After a very tiresome trip, I figured a wholesome snack really wouldn't hurt and fortunately there was a Woolworths Food outlet not too far. Having desperately browsed the store for something filling and fresh I chose their berry-beet smoothie and let's just say, I've never stopped wanting it ever since. With the help of my faithful old blender, I have managed to perfect it and I'm happy to share with you this anti-oxidant rich and anti-inflammatory drink :)




Ingredient list:

1 large banana (you can add one more for extra thickness)

1 cup of sliced beetroot ( I used bottled but not in vinegar)

1 cup of mixed berries (strawberries and blueberries)

1 cup filtered water

1 cup of chopped fresh spinach

1 heaped tablespoon Health Connection Berry Beetroot superfood mix (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Add the water and spinach and blend for 15 seconds.

  2. Add the beetroot, mixed berries, and banana and blend until smooth (approx. 1 minute)

  3. Add the superfood mix and blend for another 10 seconds.

Serve chilled.
